Privacy Policy

Side Quest Slayer is a local-first progress journal that helps you track personal quests with optional proof photos, captions, and daily reminder notifications.

Information the App Accesses

Side Quest Slayer may ask for access to:

• Camera, so you can capture proof photos for your quest entries.
• Photo library, so you can import an existing photo as a quest entry.
• Microphone and speech recognition, only when you choose voice typing for a reflection. Recognition runs on your device, and the app does not store or upload your spoken audio.
• Notifications, only if you choose to enable a local daily reminder.

Information Stored on Your Device

Side Quest Slayer stores your quest titles, optional captions/reflections, photo file locations, and reminder-related app data locally on your device. Photos captured or imported through the app are copied into the app's local document storage.

Side Quest Slayer disables Android app data backup for its local app storage so private quest data is not intentionally included in Android cloud backups.

No Account, Product Analytics, Ads, or Cloud Sync

Side Quest Slayer does not require an account and does not send your quest data, captions, spoken audio, or photos to a backend server, product analytics service, advertising network, or cloud sync service.

Crash Diagnostics

Production and preview versions of Side Quest Slayer use Sentry to receive JavaScript crash, render-failure, and unexpected application error reports. Native and NDK crash capture is disabled until equivalent platform-native privacy filtering is available. Reports may include an application stack trace, app version and build number, device model, operating-system version, and a short allowlisted trail of technical actions that occurred before the error. The reports are used only to maintain app stability and diagnose problems.

Crash reporting is configured not to send names, email addresses, advertising identifiers, quest titles, captions or reflections, photos, photo file locations, database contents, local quest or entry identifiers, reminder times, selected dates, screenshots, session replay, performance traces, or standalone product-usage events. Sentry is also configured not to store the network address used to submit a report.

Sharing

Side Quest Slayer does not sell your data or automatically share your quest data with third parties. Privacy-filtered crash diagnostics are processed by Sentry as a service provider. Other data may leave your device only if you choose to share it outside the app, contact support, back up your device, or use operating-system services that you control.

Support Communications

If you choose to contact us through the Help & Feedback options, your email app will show the message before you send it. We receive the sender address, message contents, and any attachments you choose to add. Problem reports also include the app version, build number, device platform, and operating-system version so we can investigate the issue. The app does not automatically include quest titles, reflections, photos, database contents, or device identifiers.

Support communications are transmitted through the email service you choose and processed by our email provider. We use them to respond, troubleshoot problems, and improve Side Quest Slayer, and retain them only as long as reasonably needed for those purposes or to meet legal obligations.

Data Retention and Deletion

Your quest data remains on your device until you delete it, uninstall the app, or clear the app's storage through your device settings. When you delete entries in the app, Side Quest Slayer attempts to remove the associated locally stored photo. Deleting app data does not delete support emails you previously chose to send or retroactively remove de-identified crash reports already sent to Sentry. Crash reports are retained only for the diagnostic retention period configured for the Sentry project. Contact us for privacy or deletion questions.

Security

Side Quest Slayer limits quest storage to local app storage and does not maintain a remote copy of your quest data. Crash reports are encrypted in transit to Sentry. Please use your device's lock screen and operating-system security features to help protect local data on your device.

Children's Privacy

Side Quest Slayer is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through use of the app, contact us so we can help address the concern.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the app changes. The effective date above will be updated when material changes are made.
